Our Story

During my years of automotive vehicle and system design, I was fortunate to be involved in the study of what consumers aspired to do with vehicles and why. They do not aspire to a record setting 0 - 60 mph time or cargo space for 12 grocery bags or 32MPG vs 31– rather they want to be in control of their world, they want to be a good host and to occasionally explore and discover something new in the world around them. They want to pass down their skills and beliefs to their children and they want to contribute more to their community. They want to better themselves and those around them. And now more than ever, they want to go to one of their last personal and safe places disconnect and rejuvenate.

I believe that a primary contributing factor to achieving these goals is spending quality time with others. Social connections are critical to our well-being. And in order to achieve these realities, then you have to take time “off the clock”, get-away and utilize our extremely capable modern SUVs and other vehicles to experience the world together.

Through Motourly, I hope to highlight the opportunity at hand and to encourage solutions that enable adventure, which in turn form deeper connections and bonds between us, and give us time to hit the reset button and find some calm. During this pandemic, we have all (hopefully) found and realized the value of slowing down and enjoying our surroundings.

In the past, the automotive industry was about the vehicle and aspiring to own the object. And now as so many of us move to dense cities, vehicle ownership is getting too expensive and logistically challenging. Electrification is considered part of our sustainable future and maintaining clean air and less traffic will become an imperative. And the outdoors will remain a primary source of rejuvenation for all of us.

Ride-hailing and vehicle sharing may disappear gone the way of the new social distancing era, but vehicle subscriptions may still yet get gain traction if the convenience of “packaged services” (insurance, repair, etc.) is affordable. Personal vehicles of all shapes and sizes will continue to represent freedom and adventure.

We believe that in our future Mobility Experience Economy, we will have access to services that live across a connected system of transportation modes and vehicle types. Our focus will be on access, convenience, reliability with the intent of getting done what needs to be done and moving forward. As our new products, services and systems evolve, we will always put you, our customers, first. Your needs, your well-being and your future memories will be the reason that we do what we do.

I appreciate your interest in Motourly and this vision as well as your time and consideration.
